For your planning purposes, our annual Spring Open House is scheduled for Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th. And, our 25th annniversary celebration is scheduled for May 31st. Please mark your calendar! More details will follow. Our work continues as we constantly bring a few more greyhounds into our kennel as soon as adoptions of our current residents occur. There is never an empty spot in our kennel. It's a never ending cycle - but one everyone at Greyhound Friends works very hard at completing. Every day our greyhounds are cared for - fed, medically treated if necessary, walked, loved - until their permanent homes are found. Once they are taken home, others come in to take their place and the circle continues with these new hounds. Come by and visit us - meet the new greyhounds, greet the ones that have been there a bit, waiting for their turn to go home. THE LATEST NEWS ON THE CASE OF TALCA AND SARI: New Massachusetts Court Date - March 3rd! The next court appearance in Waltham, Massachusetts for Kevin Schneider will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 3rd. (Changed from February 6th). This is also the date of Mr. Schneider's arraignment in Connecticut. At this point, we're not sure how this will be handled, so we're planning on having supporters at both locations on March 3rd. If you're available, we'd love to have you at one of these locations. We'll post any further updates and developments here as they occur. An Opportunity for More Writing in Support of Talca and Sari! Recently, several people have contacted us asking what else could be done to make sure that Kevin Schneider is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The next step would be writing to the detective working on the case, and/or his boss. Recently, all the information on the proposed prosecution of Schneider was turned over to a detective to work up and turn over to the prosecutor. So far, we have heard nothing regarding a scheduled arrest, or prosecution. It may be time to write to the detective, and his boss to let them know that we are very anxious for this to happen. When writing, it might be a good idea to let the detective or his boss know which case you're referring to, and thank him for his hard work on it. Make sure he knows that Schneider has already been arraigned in Connecticut and in Massachusetts. Since Rhode Island was the place that Sari, the greyhound that died ended up, we're really hoping for a strong case against Schneider there.
